Cremation
Somerset Hills Memorial Park provides a wide variety of cremation memorialization choices, designed to fit one’s needs.
Mosaic niches, faced with inlaid Italian glass are the centerpiece of one of our chapels. The scenes created by these niches set a tone of peace and tranquility.
Stained glass and carved glass niches can be found in our columbarium room (Phase IV), containing only niches for the memorialization of your loved ones. The design contains a country scene replete with a waterfall and cattails. Also, a second columbarium room (Phase V) contains a stained glass wall with the Barnegat lighthouse as a backdrop.
Also found are marble, granite, glass and bronze front niches, urn gardens for ground burial of cremated remains, and a special cenotaph area for memorializing loved ones whose remains are elsewhere. Our cenotaph area features a moving quotation by Sir William E. Gladstone, an 18th century statesman. “Show me the manner in which a Nation or community cares for its dead and I can measure with mathematical exactness the tender mercies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals.” – Gladstone
All of these choices are found within a tranquil setting, surrounded by the beauty of rare imported marble and artwork depicting country scenes carved and lithographed by local artists.
Our crematory has been providing Funeral Directors and our respective families with professional cremation service since 1976. Click the link for an outline of the cremation procedure at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. (Link for procedures)
Cremation does not have to be the end; it can be the beginning of the memorialization for your loved ones.
